Women’s 20K Race Walk - Final

Maria Michta-Coffey

“It’s the time you have, it’s the place. This is the highest place I’ve ever had. So that’s really special. I’m really excited for next year for the Olympics. Obviously, I still have to make the team, but to walk in these conditions, under the old Olympic standard, it makes me super psyched. I’m hunting down all those girls. There were 19 front of me and they all have targets. This was the greatest experience. I was very hot out there. I kept meaning to put water on me and I drank a lot, which is good for me, but it was very hot.”

Miranda Melville

“I wanted to do better than I did in 2013 and that happened. I think I came in 26th, so I’m really happy if that’s true. That’s a top 30 finish. I’m ecstatic, especially for it being only my second world champs. I think I get a little excited in the beginning and go a little too fast. I need to control that. But a lot of good experiences and it was just a great course. I was really excited.”

Men’s High Jump - Qualification

Jesse Williams

“Overall, I know I’m in really good shape. Technically, I couldn’t get it together today. I was all over the place. It’s been like that all year, so I was expecting to get it together here and it’s really frustrating to be training so hard and not be able to get it together. I’m always happy to compete for the U.S. and do my best.”

JaCorian Duffield

“I started off struggling early and that cost me at the end. My first time out here, I wanted to handle business and I didn’t. I’m certainly blessed for the opportunity.”

Erik Kynard

“It wasn’t at all satisfying. I should’ve hit the auto qualifier. I’m not making any excuses but after 2.29, I couldn’t see anything. I think I had too much sugar and not enough water. I started to get a little headache. It’s fine but I was able to make it through unscathed, so I’m lucky I guess. It won’t cut it on the final, so I need to get it together.”
