INDIANAPOLIS – David Lane and Aliza LaPierre won national titles Jan. 19 at the 2014 USATF 100 km Trail Championships in tough conditions on the course in Bandera, Texas.
Twenty-six-year-old David Laney (Ashland, Oregon) exchanged the lead with several runners en route to his 8:35:46 winning time.
The runner-up was 41-year-old Paul Terranova (Austin, Texas), who finished in 8:39:44. oun Hazen (Colorado Springs, Colorado), 19, rounded out the top three with his finish in 8:47:55.
In the women’s race, Aliza LaPierre, 34, of Vermont pulled ahead to finish in 10:17:15 for a victory of more than five minutes.
Nicole Studer, 32, finished in 10:22:46 for second place, and Ashley Lister (Lockhaven, Pennsylvania), 27, was third as she completed the muddy, icy trail in 10:41:12.
Traci Falbo, 43, of Indiana was the top masters female in 12:30:49, and Eric Loffland was the top masters male in11:21:24.
