Lawrence, Kansas is known for being a city with a wide variety of activities for any visitor. Home to the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University, the city boasts entertainment for the whole family.

The KU campus is home to many entertaining attractions. Jayhawk Boulevard, the main thoroughfare through campus, is known for its beautiful architecture and landscapes. The Booth Family Hall of Athletics, located in front of storied Allen Fieldhouse, chronicles the history of the Jayhawks throughout the decades. The KU Natural History Museum features many traveling and permanent exhibits, including "Bug Town," "Explore Evolution," and dinosaur fossils. The Spencer Art Museum features one of the most comprehensive university art collections in the United States. Be sure also to visit the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics, featuring exhibits that trace half a century of Kansas and American history, and the career of Senator Dole.

Haskell Cultural Center features exhibits from the university's artifact collections and American Indian artwork.

Downtown Lawrence is a haven for the unique. Massachusetts Street is home to many locally owned shops, art galleries, and a variety of ethnic restaurants. Downtown Lawrence also hosts the Lawrence Arts Center, a community art gallery and performance space. Visit the Watkins Community Museum of History, which highlights exhibits dealing with Lawrence history.

The South Iowa area of Lawrence is where you can find popular chain restaurants, department stores, and the Hollywood Southwind 12 movie theater.

For more information about Lawrence, stop by the Lawrence Visitor Information Center, a restored Union Pacific Depot, that is an attraction on its own. Watch a 27-minute docudrama that chronicles the first 10 years of Lawrence's history and culminates with Quantrill's Raid of the city in 1863, or pick up self-guided tour brochures that highlight historic Lawrence landmarks and attractions.

Kansas City:  The Legends at Village West offers specialty stores, unique retail, entertainment, and dining venues to support and enhance any visitor's lifestyle. The Legends is an outdoor shopping mall that features a number of nationally recognized retailers and restaurants. Other attractions include Cabela's, Nebraska Furniture Mart, Great Wolf Lodge, and the NASCAR Kansas Speedway.

Topeka, Kansas offers a wide-range of attractions and entertainment venues. Four "must-sees" include the Brown vs. Board of Education National Historic Site; an interactive, experiential museum which allows the viewer to appreciate the role this 1954 Supreme Court Decision played in the Civil Rights Movement. The Kansas Museum of History features award-winning exhibits detailing Kansas' past. Old Prairie Town at Ward-Meade Historic Site is one of the best-kept secrets of Topeka. This site features a recreation of a Kansas pioneer town, complete with a one-room schoolhouse, cabin, mansion, offices, and more. Finally, don't pass up a tour of the Kansas State Capitol building and learn the fascinating story of John Stuart Curry's murals, or get adventurous and climb the 296 steps to reach the top of the Capitol Dome. Topeka also offers a number of shopping and dining choices.
